In
accordance with the ERCOT Protocols, certain information provided
by Market Participants will be maintained by ERCOT as confidential
while certain other information must be made public. Please review
the ERCOT Protocols to determine which information must be publicly
posted by ERCOT. The following discloses the information gathering
and dissemination practices for this Web site, which is exclusively
monitored and maintained by ERCOT:
Information
Automatically Logged
We use web server
logs to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer
our Web site. Server logs are analyzed by a commercial tool to provide
simple access demographics, including "New vs. Returning Visitors,"
"Top Visitors," "Top Geographic Regions," and other statistical
reports. Although some reports may identify particular computers
or networks by IP address, this data is for internal use only and
will not be shared with other companies or agencies (unless required
by law).
Cookies
Our Site uses cookies to keep
track of the state of your session. We may also use cookies to deliver
content specific to your interests. For example, cookie variables
disable one-time animations that would otherwise become tiresome
after several viewings. No personal information is stored in cookies.
If cookies are disabled, settlements applications in the protected
portion of the Web site will not work properly.
Registration
Forms
Our site contains a contact
form that the public can use to request further information about
ERCOT and ERCOT's Renewable Energy Credits Trading Program. This
form requires users to give us contact information (name, email,
and telephone number). This information is transmitted securely
to ERCOT via SSL, and is not shared with third parties. Email addresses
provided to ERCOT via the public contact form will not be used for
Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE) purposes.
To participate in the Renewable Energy
Credits Trading Program, a participant must register with ERCOT
in accordance with Section 16 of the ERCOT Protocols. Contact information
from the registration forms may be used to get in touch with the
participant when necessary. Unique identifiers (i.e., login ids)
are used to verify the user's identity when the user logs in to
begin a session or to view settlements.

This site contains (resource)

Security
This website and supporting
servers are distributed over several geographic sites to ensure
high availability. Each site has security measures in place to protect
against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under
our control.
Firewalls protect each site from
improper Internet Access.
Only registered participants are
allowed to view settlement statements. Traders must be authenticated
at login by supplying a valid user-id and password. All sensitive
browser communications (including login) are encrypted via SSL.
Virtual Private Networks connect
remote sites. Standard IPSEC tunnels protect sensitive inter-site
communications.
ERCOT periodically reviews and updates
its security policies to incorporate best practices and new technology
as the state of the art evolves. Although ERCOT will use reasonable
efforts to provide data security, ERCOT does not warrant that such
efforts will be successful, and does not warrant the security of
data provided to ERCOT.
